The municipal council of Montvalezan (Savoie, France) voted on April 8, 2021 a deliberation that threatens Le Gollet as we know and love it. More specifically, point 5 of this project aims to modify the Local Urban Plan (PLU) to « allow the densification of the Gollet sector ».
On May 2, 2021, 34 people participated in the General Assembly constituting the Association Les Amis du Gollet, which aims to preserve Le Gollet in La Rosière.

We are completely opposed to any « densification » of Le Gollet and therefore opposed to the proposed modification of the PLU concerning its aims to make it consistent « with what can be found in the rest of the territory » of the station. Since its creation fifty years ago, Le Gollet, whose set of chalets constitute a unique mountain architectural heritage, has been a haven of tranquillity that has escaped the real estate escalation. Le Gollet constitutes a harmonious and peaceful whole precisely because a certain number of activities are prohibited there (art. UG1 of the regulation of the PLU), because it consists of chalets of relatively modest surface areas (art. UG2.1) and heights (art. UG10) and because it is surrounded by trees (protected, art. UG13) where birds and squirrels nest. In short, the site respects the beauty and harmony of the mountain. Le Gollet is an asset that has greatly contributed to the identity and development of La Rosière, to the enchantment of this beautiful, peaceful and family resort, which it must preserve.
